Travel the Cosmos: Merchandise Collection

Softwares Used:
- Procreate
- Blender
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator

Challenge:
This project involved crafting a distinctive product line on many mediums. Students were granted freedom to make it about anything we were passionate as long as they had at least three different mock up designs to show in their project.

Solution:
The merchandise collection I worked on focuses mainly on science fiction, space exploration, and thirst for creation. I first made my design by painting a canvas, I then scanned it and made shirt and sticker mock ups of products you would see in gift shops or souvenir shops. I am aiming to create a cohesive design so I figured black and pink would be the main contenders for these pieces. After finishing the project I decided to make more pieces of merchandise such as VIP event passes, stickers, and keychains that are cohesive with the first half of the project.

Canvas Design

With this graphic I believe I was able to encapsulate the feeling of the unknown with stylistic additions. After I came up with the physical copy first I had to start thinking about how I could mock this up. This process involved experimenting with different layouts and perspectives to bring the concept to life. I also paid close attention to how the visual elements translated digitally to ensure the essence of mystery remained intact.

Merch Products:
- stickers
- t shirt
- album covers
- event passes (VIP)
- Keychains (various colors)

From 2D to 3D

The original design of the keychain product was started off as a 3D printed design, then later changed into a transparent laser cut design in adobe illustrator. I tested my design with transparent plexiglass but unfortunately I did not like the outcome. The final versions of the keychains are still plexiglass but have darker bases with different colored aliens and spaceships for those who want to pick out their favorite!
